Google recently launched ‘Smart Shopping’, a new campaign type for you to promote your inventory. It is ‘smart’ because it uses machine learning and intent signals to find the right user. Additionally, it uses insights like the time of day, location, seasonality, user intent or the device to set the right bid. Based on several insights, it automatically managed ads, targeting, bids and budget allocation. Next to advertising on Google shopping, it also uses the same feed for display remarketing to drive more sales across platforms – all done within one campaign.
According to Google, advertisers see on average an increase of more than 20% in conversion value at a similar cost, when switching from regular to smart shopping. We too, see great results when our clients shift from regular to smart shopping!
